TEAM
I have been a cooperating teacher and mentor teacher for student teachers and novice teachers for the past 11 years. I am trained in the TEAM process , as well as a TEAM reflection paper scorer. I enjoy mentoring new teachers and sharing best practices. The most important message I send to those new to the teaching profession is to be a reflective practitioner. When I guide new teachers through the TEAM modules, the key questions I continuously have them focus on are; What was the impact on students? What was the impact on practice? What new learning did you gain?

Instructional Rounds & Classroom Walkthroughs
I am fortunate to have been part of an Administrative Aspirant Team in Southington Schools. This team was developed by Southington's former superintendent of Schools, Dr. Joseph Erardi. During my time as an active team member I was able to participate in many leadership activities. During our meetings we would practice responding to , not reacting to, common and uncommon scenarios that can play out on any given day as a leader of a school. I was able to attend Instructional Rounds and classroom walkthroughs using various lenses and pointed checklists. My biggest take away from Instructional Rounds, professional reading and coursework is to be cognizant of what students should know and be able to do after a lesson. I also had opportunities to monitor the implementation of district adopted programs such as reading and writing workshop. During my internship I had multiple opportunities to practice the evaluation of teachers with the guidance of the principal at my school and permission from my peers. I am very familiar with Danielson's Framework for Teaching and the teacher evaluation system for Southington Public Schools, which was developed based on SEED.
